The Jade Maple Awards
TCCFF is proud to once again present a wide range of awards that honour creativity, innovation, and excellence in filmmaking. This year, we’re excited to spotlight two very special distinctions:
The Canadian Jade Maple Film Honors Awards (The Jade Maple Awards) established by the Toronto Chinese Canadian Film Festival, aims to recognize film professionals in the global Chinese film who have made outstanding contributions to the art of filmmaking. This award not only celebrates the artistic accomplishments of its recipients but also carries the following missions:
1. Promoting Cinematic Culture – Through the art of film, we advance the spirit and philosophy of Chinese culture, showcasing the profound depth of Eastern aesthetics to the world.
2. Honoring Legendary Filmmakers – We pay tribute to the pioneers of the film industry, whose lifelong dedication has shaped new horizons in cinema and nurtured future generations, ensuring the continuity of the craft.
3. Fostering International Exchange – As a key platform for Chinese cinema in North America. The Toronto Chinese Canadian Film Festival seeks to build bridges between Eastern and Western film cultures through this award, allowing the artistic value of cinema to gain global recognition.
Now in its second year, the Audience Choice Award continues to celebrate the film that resonates most deeply with our audience.
As part of our Short Film Competition, finalists from around the world will be showcased during the festival. All TCCFF attendees with valid tickets are invited to watch and vote in person for their favourite film. The winner will receive the Audience Choice Award and a cash prize—an honour determined entirely by the voices of our audience.
